Members: As you know, the Teck Frontier project has been under Federal-Provincial review since 2011. Teck has concluded participation agreements with 14 affected Alberta First Nations and Metis communities, and the project is anticipated to create 7,000 jobs during the construction phase and 2,500 operating jobs, mostly in rural Alberta, which has experienced devastating job losses over the last 6 years. The project will also contribute at least $12 billion in federal income and capital taxes, which will fund health care, education, and other benefits for local indigenous populations and all Canadians.
